The first licensed boxing tournament is gaining momentum in Busto Arsizio, Italy.
As reported by İdman.biz, today two athletes of the Azerbaijani national team entered the ring.
Umid Rustamov (57 kg) defeated Nawaf Alzakhmi (UAE) in his first fight at the tournament. Already in the first round he knocked out his opponent. Umid’s next opponent will be Bakary Hassan (Kenya). The fight will take place on March 8.
In the women’s competition, Zeinab Ragimova (54 kg) won against Fatima Zohra Hajaly (Algeria) with a score of 4:1 (29:28, 30:27, 29:29, 30:27, 28:29) In the 1/16 she will meet with representative of Ethiopia Ageri Bayev. The battle will take place on March 7.
At the start of the tournament, Nijat Huseynov (51 kg) won, defeating Deepak Deepak (India).
It should be noted that 49 trips to Paris will be played in Busto Arizio – 28 for men and 21 for women.

On March 5, the traditional international tournament among young boxers “Pearl of the Adriatic” starts in Budva (Montenegro).
According to İdman.biz, the Azerbaijani national team will take part in the five-day competition.
Bilalhabashi Nazarov (48 kg), Zidan Khumbatov (51 kg), Magomedali Ashuraliev (57 kg), Ibrahim Zeynalov (63.5 kg), Huseyn Gadzhiev (67 kg) will take part in the tournament under the leadership of the head coach of the national team Elbrus Rzayev and coach Elvin Mamishzade kg) and Ziya Hasanov (71 kg).
Lala Madatova (48 kg), Narmin Alizade (50 kg), Ainur Mikailova (54 kg), Gyzbes Iskender (57 kg) and Emily Rzayeva (63 kg) will take part in the girls’ competition under the leadership of coach Anar Bakhishov.
Rovshan Gadirov will be a judge from Azerbaijan at the “Pearl of the Adriatic”.
Today the national team will leave for the tournament and return to Baku on March 11.
