Thousands of years ago, Steppenwolf (Ciaran Hinds) and his army of Parademons attacked Earth to expand their power in the Universe, but were repelled by a coalition of Amazons, Atlanteans, Greek gods, Green Lanterns, and humans. After his defeat, Steppenwolf left behind three mysterious mother boxes, sources of his power, which were hidden in various places on the planet. With the passing of Superman (Henry Cavill), the mother boxes are reactivated and Steppenwolf returns to Earth with his army. He attacks Themyscira and gets one of the boxes. Diana Prince, aka Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot)joins Bruce Wayne, aka Batman (Ben Affleck), to form a group of superheroes and stop the alien. They recruit Flash (Ezra Miller), Aquaman (Jason Momoa) e Cyborg (Ray Fisher)and together they save hostages and decide to bring Superman back to life.
Using the energy from the third box, they bring Superman back to life, but he initially loses his memories. Lois Lane (Amy Adams) she saves him and brings him back to normal. Meanwhile, Steppenwolf obtains the last box and plans to unite the three to conquer Earth. The group faces him in a final battle and, with Superman’s help, defeats him. After their victory, the group decides to continue protecting Earth and Wayne Manor becomes their base of operations. Each of the members returns to their own lives, but the door is kept open for new members. Flash gets a job with the police, Cyborg works with his father to improve his skills, and Aquaman returns to Atlantis to reclaim the throne.

The change of direction
The original director of the film was Zack Snyder, but following tragic family events he had to leave the project during the post-production phase. Joss Whedon he was then called upon to complete the film and made significant changes, leading to notable differences between Snyder’s vision and the final product.
The length of the film
Snyder’s original cut had a significantly longer running time than the released version. Snyder had initially expected a duration of longer four hoursbut the film released in theaters was about two hours long.
The controversial special effects
The film has been the subject of discussion regarding the special effects, especially regarding the CGI used for remove mustache by Henry Cavill, who plays Superman. Due to contractual commitments with another film, Cavill was unable to shave his mustache during additional filming of Justice Leagueso special effects were used to digitally remove them, with visually unconvincing results in some scenes.
