Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina unveiled the cover of the book ‘From Bangabandhu to Desharatna: Epic of Inspiration’ written by Barrister Biplab Barua, Office Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister.

The cover of this book was unveiled at the Dhaka District Branch Awami League office in Tejgaon of the capital on Thursday (March 7) afternoon. At that time, writer Biplab Barua and publisher poet Tariq Sujat, members of the cabinet, central leaders of Awami League were present.

Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina wrote the foreword of the book. Dedicated to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the greatest son of Bengali, the father of the nation, the book has ten essays. These are – ‘Epic of Eternal Inspiration of Bengali’, ‘Bangabandhu in Establishing the Dignity of Bengali Language’, ‘Bangabandhu’s Unique Struggle’, ‘A Great Father’s Opportunity Daughter’, ‘Bangladesh Democracy Restoration Day 7 May 2007’, ‘January 31, 1996: Forgotten One Cursed’. Day’, ‘BNP Politics on Indemnity Ordinance’, ‘Anti-Padma Bridge Conspiracy and Yunus Centre’s Statement’, ‘February 15 BNP Election and Black Chapter in History’ and ‘Election Commission Formation Act: Comparative Analysis with Other Countries’.

In the writings, the unequivocal truth is presented through analysis in the light of important facts. It also includes two political memoirs based on the author’s experiences. The last chapter has four interviews with Biplab Barua. They are – ‘Government is not India or China oriented, it is completely oriented towards the people of the country’, ‘Only Sheikh Hasina can be trusted on the issue of liberation’, ‘Youth is angry with the government, I don’t believe it’, and ‘Seventy five is a very sensitive term for us’. In these interviews, Biplab Barua’s political philosophy and vision became visible to the reader.

Bangabandhukanya wrote in the preface, ‘The works of many politicians of the world are recognized as outstanding documents of history. The books of Father of the Nation are significant additions to it. … The writings of the revolution published in newspapers at various times are being published as books, this is very happy news for me.’

He also said, ‘In the writings, the revolution has shown some pictures of the politics of Bangladesh, which will be considered as a new experience of reading political essays for the reader. … Like Biplab, all political workers will write regularly about society and politics, it is my expectation.’

Biplab Barua expressed gratitude to Sheikh Hasina, the eldest daughter of the father of the nation, for writing the foreword and unveiling the cover of the book. He thanked the publisher of the book and everyone present.

Published by Journeyman Books, the book has been designed by Tariq Sujat based on artist Hashem Khan’s artwork. The price of the book is 600 rupees.
