The former Minister of National Reconciliation and member of the Convergence of socio-political actors engaged in the framework of inter-Guinean dialogue, is appointed head of government by a presidential decree, replacing Dr Bernard Goumou. This choice of Bah Oury, mostly praised for its political constancy, its experiences but also its peaceful character, disturbs its counterparts involved in this framework of dialogue.
The team of Dr Ibrahima Sory Diallo from the ADC-BOC party, during a lively conference this Thursday, February 29, 2024 at the press house, pointed out the lack of consultation which should lead to the establishment of a government of national unity. And consequently, the suspension of their participation in the bodies of the dialogue framework including the popularization commissions, the technical secretariats and the permanent national committee for monitoring the implementation of the resolutions of the dialogue framework.
“We unfortunately note that the choice of the new Prime Minister was not preceded by the slightest consultation of political and social entities, even though they are stakeholders in the Framework for Permanent Inclusive Dialogue between Guinea and in the implementation of the 35 resolutions resulting from the Framework of the inclusive inter-Guinean dialogue.
We believe that such a process will not be able to confer greater legitimacy on this choice, which is nevertheless necessary for the peaceful implementation of the ten (10) stages of the Transition Chronogram and the 35 resolutions resulting from the Framework for inclusive, permanent dialogue. inter-Guinean,” they indicated in a statement read by Ms. Aissata Camara.
Continuing, these actors indicated that this non-consensual choice could also weaken the political and social space with regard to the personality of the person who is promoted to this position. To this end, concerned about the success of the transition, they say, they invite the transitional authorities to favor an inclusive mechanism with socio-political actors, involved in the said Dialogue Framework, in the establishment of the next Government, a guarantee of a peaceful and successful transition.
