The political harmony that normally characterizes the meetings of the state government in St. Pölten should have been over since yesterday.
Since has deputy governor Franz Schnabl (SPÖ) learned from a chat in which the state governor Johanna Mikl Leitner (ÖVP) wrote the sentence “Reds stay Gsindl!”. This came from the mobile phone of your former head of cabinet Michael Kloibmuller, which a former employee of the Office for the Protection of the Constitution is said to have read and distributed.

Since then, Schnabl no longer wants to accept the cooperation in Lower Austria demanded by Mikl-Leitner. He announces an open letter about the chats and demands an apology from Mikl-Leitner.
The sentence dates back to 2016, when Johanna Mikl-Leitner was still Minister of the Interior and there was a rift in the red-black government over refugee policy.
Schnabl writes in a broadcast: “The chat content of Johanna Mikl-Leitner thwarts the lip service to togetherness in Lower Austria. They defame those who think differently politically and show that the ÖVP is apparently not ready to find a consensus with its political competitors – the ÖVP is rather insulting.”
