France, which grossly violates human rights and where bribery and corruption in legislative structures, Islamophobia, as well as a number of other human rights violations are widespread, has no moral right to bring charges against Azerbaijan.

As Day.Az reports, this is stated in a statement by the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

“We strongly reject the March 8 statement by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs regarding alleged attacks on freedom of expression and the press, as well as arbitrary arrests in Azerbaijan.

We regard such unfounded and biased statements as interference in the internal affairs of Azerbaijan, the investigative process and the independence of the judiciary.

France, where human rights have been grossly violated, protesters have died during riots, bribery and corruption in legislative structures, Islamophobia and attacks on Muslims are widespread, and where measures have not been taken to prevent a number of other human rights violations, has no moral right to bring charges against Azerbaijan .

Fundamental rights and freedoms, as well as freedom of the media, are fully ensured in Azerbaijan.

Once again, we demand that France not interfere in the internal affairs of Azerbaijan,” the department said in a statement.
