New Delhi: Former Indian cricket team all-rounder Yusuf Pathan is now ready to hit fours and sixes on the political pitch. Yusuf Pathan got the ticket from West Bengal Chief Minister Trinamool Congress Party and has been made the candidate from Berhampur Lok Sabha seat. Yusuf Pathan will contest against Congress party’s Adhir Ranjan Choudhary from Baharampur. Amidst the ongoing turmoil over seats in the India alliance, TMC released its list of 42 candidates for Lok Sabha seats, in which the name of cricketer Yusuf Pathan is also included.

Yusuf Pathan, who played 57 ODI and 22 T20 matches for India, was known for his stormy play on the cricket field. Yusuf scored 810 runs for Team India in ODIs with 2 centuries and 3 half-centuries. While bowling in this format, Yusuf Pathan has taken a total of 33 wickets. Apart from this, in T20 format he has scored 236 runs and also taken 13 wickets. Apart from Team India, Yusuf has appeared in a total of 174 matches for different IPL teams.
