Jogger has 7 seats, spends less in the city

Usually, the Dacia brand evokes in Bulgarians an association with an affordable, unpretentious and reliable car produced in Romania under the Renault umbrella. However, times change and Dacia cannot stay the same. The brand has had a purely electric car called Spring for several years, which is assembled in China. Recently, the family seven-seater Dacia Jogger is also gaining popularity, which, after the purely gasoline version with 110 horses and the one with the factory-built gas (propane-butane) system, is now also available as a classic self-charging hybrid – the first for Dacia!

Like the look and feel of the Dacia Jogger

it has nothing to do with the company’s first attempts at a family car

– the design is cool and modern, and the materials and build quality aren’t bad either.

There are some things you have to swallow though. The first is the price. There are not many people who would pay BGN 50,000 for a dacha, even if it has seven seats and VAT is recognized. In addition, the Dacia Jogger Hybrid growls more than necessary when driving at higher speeds or sharply pressing the gas pedal (otherwise, the departure is always absolutely silent – only on an electric motor).

The car relies on a four-cylinder 1.6-liter gasoline atmospheric engine with 90 hp. and 148 Nm torque, electric motor with 50 hp. and 205 Nm and a high-voltage starter-alternator. In total, they give this eco-friendly dacia a power of 140 horses and 205 Nm, which are controlled by an automatic electric gearbox with four gears connected to the internal combustion engine and two gears connected to the electric motor. The lack of a clutch is compensated by a starter-generator that takes care of smooth gear shifting.

Acceleration from standstill to 100 km/h in 9.8 seconds is not impressive, but

quite enough to overtake relatively easily

and not to get out of breath on the steep sections of the road. The maximum speed is 167 km/h.

However, the hybrid dacia stands stable in the turns, because it is light (1357 kg), and the wheelbase is as much as 2.9 meters. Soft seats also enhance the feeling of comfort in the cabin.

The battery charges itself when you slow down and stop. The intelligent automatic transmission combined with the energy management system optimizes the car’s performance and consumption. And gasoline consumption can easily drop by 5 liters in the city due to the modern hybrid technology, which allows when driving up to 80% in fully electric mode in populated areas, fuel consumption can be reduced by up to 40%!

The Dacia also has an ecological mode, which also extends the range on electricity alone. The car also has two more driving modes. In D, the car is driven like a regular gasoline car, and in B, the hybrid

reduces the speed sharply only when lifting the foot from the gas pedal,

without touching the brake.

This B mode is particularly suitable for driving in the city or on a mountain road, because it increases the recharge of the battery.

The Romanian brand’s widest car also features an 8-inch multimedia screen that offers a navigation system and wireless smartphone replication with Apple Carplay or Android Auto.

Although it is a hybrid, this dacia

maintains the minimum luggage volume,

which is 607 liters for the five-seat versions and 506 liters for the seven-seat versions. This is possible because the small battery is placed in the place of the spare tire. The maximum luggage volume is 1819 and 1594 liters respectively.

The family estate can also be equipped with cruise control, parking assistant and a reversing camera.
