Stefan Kraft celebrated his 41st World Cup victory on Holmenkollen on Saturday, or his eleventh of the season.

World Cup leader Stefan Kraft landed in difficult conditions in Oslo at 132 and 133 meters and won on Saturday 8.8 points ahead of the Norwegian Kristoffer Eriksen Sundal and 12.5 points ahead of the Salzburg Lahti winner Jan Hörl. With Michael Hayböck (4th) and Daniel Huber (6th), four Austrians ended up in the top 6.

Kraft thus extended the lead in the overall World Cup to 296 points over the tour winner Ryoyu Kobayashi (JPN), who had no points on Saturday. In the “Raw Air” overall ranking, Huber, who won the qualification on Friday, is leading with strength.

“Incredible. The second jump was really a rocket again, I caught it exactly. “I had the usual trajectory again and I’m super happy that we got it that way from yesterday to today,” said a delighted Kraft in the ORF interview. He found the right levers.

Huber had previously said that Kraft could win the overall World Cup if he took the “Raw Air” classification. “Nothing is given to him, even if he is one of my best friends. The decision will be made in Vikersund during ski flying anyway. And in Oberstdorf he showed that he can do it really well,” said Kraft.

“Ski jumping was really difficult today, so you have to be happy if you got halfway through twice,” said Huber afterwards. “I still really enjoy it and I definitely want to keep it that way.”

Daniel Tschofenig didn’t make it into the second round, coming in 31st place after a 119 m jump, just 0.1 points short of the final. He was one of several victims in a “wind lottery” that caused discontent among some jumpers, including Manuel Fettner. For example, Kobayashi didn’t make it into the second round either, so the Asian had to write off the “Raw Air” award worth 40,000 euros for the winner early. (apa)
