A fire occurred on the flagship of the British Royal Navy, the aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth, which was extinguished, the UK Defense Journal reported, Day.Az reports citing Interfax.

The fire on the aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth, which is currently located in the port of Glenmullan in Scotland, broke out the day before; there were no reports of casualties.

“There were no casualties, the ship received minor damage from the fire, but everything is over,” a source on board the aircraft carrier told the publication.

A Royal Navy spokesman said “a small, isolated fire on HMS Queen Elizabeth was quickly brought under control and extinguished.”

According to reports, the fire broke out in the wardroom of the aircraft carrier. The reasons are being established.

The aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth, which was unable to take part in NATO exercise Steadfast Defender 24 due to technical problems, is being sent to a shipyard in Rosyth in Scotland for repairs.

It will be put into dry dock, where it is planned to replace the coupling of its starboard propeller shaft.

Along the way, the aircraft carrier stopped at Glenmallan, where the naval depots are located, to unload ammunition.
