ST NICOLAS-. The multinational of agricultural machinery John Deere announced an investment of US$15 million in its manufacturing plant PLA by John Deere in Las Rosas, Santa Fe, where it produces sprayers and seeders.

“The investment we announced at Expoagro is to expand the production capacity of PLA by John Deere, the plant dedicated to the production of sprayers and seeders. The plant will increase its manufacturing capacity by approximately 50% through a significant change in the unit, which means almost a new factory with new buildings, a painting and assembly line, improvements in processes, systems and logistics,” he said. “It is a very important transformation for the company, a milestone that we will be inaugurating in the month of April and will allow us to live up to the opportunities that Argentine potential offers,” added the executive.
According to him, the investment in PLA is part of an “ambitious investment program” that John Deere has been developing in Argentina. He highlighted: “In the last 10 years it has accumulated more than 265 million dollars, without considering the acquisition amounts of PLA and King Agro in 2018.”
“The investment program is a countless number of bets and actions to improve the quality and efficiency of our plants,” he added. For the company, Argentina is important and this is reflected in the investments.

The company’s productive activities are carried out in three plants: tractors, combines, platforms and engines (John Deere brand) in Granadero Baigorria, Santa Fe; sprayers and seeders (PLA by John Deere brand) in Las Rosas, Santa Fe; and carbon fiber bowsprits (King Agro brand) in Campana, Buenos Aires.
Currently, as they commented, the company is the only company that produces in Argentina the main equipment necessary for the production cycle: tractors, harvesters, seeders and sprayers. And, in turn, his engine plant is the main supplier of engines for all the company’s factories in South America (seven plants in total).
The company has more than 3,200 direct employees among its plants and dealer network present in more than 100 locations in the country. It has 1,200 national suppliers of materials and services. It is the main exporter and employer in the agricultural machinery industry.
