/ The US Central Command, Centcom, said that an anti-ship cruise missile was launched from Houthi areas in Yemen towards the ship USS Laboon (DDG 58), which was operating in the southern Red Sea.

Centcom said in a statement: “The missile was shot down near the coast of Hodeidah by American fighter aircraft.”

She added: “No injuries or damage were reported.”

The Yemeni Houthi group said earlier that it had detected American planes flying near Yemen’s airspace and its coastal areas.

The group’s spokesman, Mohamed Abdel Salam, described the “enemy’s” activities as a blatant violation of national sovereignty.

On the other hand, an American military official confirmed that the United States and its allies opposing the Houthi rebels in Yemen did not carry out any strike on Sunday on the port of Hodeidah in western Yemen.

The official told Agence France-Presse, “No American or coalition strike was carried out today,” after Houthi media reported that new American and British raids targeted Hodeidah Governorate on Sunday.
