The challenge of this third edition consisted of the development of the “Visitor Center” Building within the Karibao macroproject, located in Playas via Engabao. This building would be one of its main attractions. The participating teams presented creative, innovative and sustainable designs, optimizing resources and maintaining the guidelines of Karibao’s architectural style, offering hotel, commercial and recreational services.

The Espíritu Santo Specialty University received first place, with its team made up of students José Andrés Mendoza and Karen Bohórquez, accompanied by their tutor, Architect Leonardo Rodríguez. The members of the winning university project They received as a prize a trip with all expenses paid, to attend an international congress of the real estate sector in Latin America. The second place creditors obtained WACOM graphic tablets, which allow them to design in a better way, both in their academic and professional lives, and the third place received a subscription to a software license for an architectural design program. In addition, all the winners received a Full Day or day trip at Karibao that allows them to enjoy the place that inspired them to create their proposals and its multiple amenities.

The qualifying jury was made up of Mr. Felipe Bernal, Special Representative of Pronobis; Architect Christian Wiese, author of iconic works such as The Point and Maxximus; Architect Pablo Vintimilla, General Manager of Vintimilla Constructora; and Architect Carolina Romero of Lifestyle Architeture. All of them are prominent architects and builders, who have developed projects with PRONOBIS as one of their requirements. The parameters that were taken into account for the selection and qualification process of the groups of finalist students were the different factors such as innovation, functionality, sustainability and the iconic model of the project.
