You fear losing the conversations saved on your cell phone when the time comes to change it for a newer one.
Normally you recover your conversations when you install WhatsApp on your new cell phone and link it with your email, for this purpose the backup copies are stored in the email automatically, but there is another way to recover your data.
You can use the WhatsApp chat transfer function
The WhatsApp application comes by default with a function called transfer chats which, as its name suggests, allows you to transfer the application’s chats from one phone to another without complications. To do this, follow the following steps:
First open the WhatsApp application. Click on the three-dot menu at the top right and enter Settings. When you are in Settings, press the Chats section. Then when you are in the chats section, go down and touch the option that says Transfer chats. Press Start to begin the process.
After you do all this, you will have to download WhatsApp on the new phone and register it with the same phone number. To finish, you must take the old cell phone and scan the QR code that appears on the new phone and accept a connection request and that’s it.
