Tate, who has 8.9 million followers on social media platform X, has consistently maintained that Romanian prosecutors have no evidence against him and claims it is a political conspiracy to silence him. He has been banned from several major social media platforms in the past for misogynistic comments and hate speech.

A recent post on Tate’s X account stated: “The Matrix is ​​afraid, but I only fear God». Tate uses the “Matrix” as a metaphor for what he perceives as a broad conspiracy against men.

After their arrest in Romania, the Tate brothers were initially placed in police custody for three months before being placed under house arrest. Their movements were limited to the Municipality of Bucharest and the adjacent Ilfov County, with a ban on exiting Romania. The ongoing trial in Romania is still at the preliminary committee stage, where defendants have the opportunity to challenge prosecutors’ evidence. A trial date has not yet been set.
