Like Kerala, the people of Tamil Nadu have accepted the film with open arms. Ganapathy says that the people of Tamil Nadu have accepted Manjummal Boys in a different way.

Ganapathy said that the Tamil people see it as their image and that is how they connect. Ganapathy added that they believe it is a Tamil film. Ganapathi was speaking in an interview given to Q Studio.

‘Tamil Nadu has accepted this film in a different way. The Malayali audience sees it as their film. That’s how they connected it. They believe that this is a Tamil film. For sure, the Tamil film is with us,’ said Ganapathy.

Manjummal Boys is the film directed by Chidambaram after Jaan-A-Man. Chidambaram’s film, based on the true events of a group of youths’ journey to Kodaikanal, was received as well in Tamil as it was in Malayalam.

It has become the highest grossing Malayalam film in Tamil Nadu. Celebrities like Kamal Haasan, Udayanidhi Stalin and Anurag Kashyap have praised the film. Thus Malayalam cinema is at its peak.

Apart from Ganapathi, the film also stars Soubin Shahir, Srinath Bhasi, Jean Paul Lal, Deepak Parambol, Balu Varghese, Arun Kurien, Chanthu Salimkumar and Khalid Rahman. Manjummal Boys is a survival thriller about a group of youths from Manjummal, Kochi, who travel to Kodaikanal and what happens in their lives.
