The US Army’s Central Command claims that last night (Thursday), the Houthis launched a ballistic missile that missed the ships.

Between two o’clock in the morning and five in the morning, the message reads, “Houthi terrorists supported by Iran fired a ballistic missile against one of the ships from Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen into the Gulf of Aden. The missile did not hit any vessel and no casualties or damage were reported.”

The message states that the United States Central Command was engaged at the same time in destroying four unmanned aerial systems (UAVs) and one surface-to-air missile in areas controlled by the Houthis in Yemen.

The announcement reads: “The systems have been assessed as posing an immediate threat to merchant ships and US Navy ships in the area. These actions are being taken to protect freedom of navigation and make international waters safer and more secure for the US Navy and merchant vessels.”

As I remember yesterday, it was reported in the Financial Times that the United States held secret talks with Iran last January in order to influence the Houthi rebels and a demand arose that they stop the attacks in the Red Sea.
