Former Russian president Dmitri Medvedev has just presented its “Russian formula for peace ” in Ukraine. A 7-point plan that looks more like an ultimatum than an outstretched hand. Between excessive demands and calling into question Ukrainian sovereignty, these proposals caused an outcry on the international scene. Deciphering a peace plan which has all the makings of a capitulation.
Ukraine: recognition of defeat and forced demilitarization ????️????
The first point of the “Russian formula” leaves no room for ambiguity. Medvedev demands that Ukraine recognize its “military defeat” and she surrenders “completely and unconditionally”. A request that sounds like a humiliation for kyiv, which has been fighting for months to defend its territorial integrity.
But the Kremlin does not stop there. It also requires a “demilitarization” total control of Ukraine and the ban on it creating paramilitary groups in the future. A way of depriving the country of all means of defense and putting it at the mercy of Moscow.
Denazification and loss of sovereignty: Ukraine under supervision ????????????
In his plan, Medvedev also repeats the Kremlin’s rhetoric on the so-called ” Nazism » of the Ukrainian regime. It requires a “forced denazification” of all authorities in the country, under the supervision of the UN. An unfounded accusation which aims to delegitimize the democratically elected government in kyiv.
Even more serious, Russia wants the UN to declare that Ukraine has lost its “international legal personality” and that it can no longer join military alliances without the agreement of Moscow. A frontal challenge to the sovereignty of the country, reduced to the status of a Russian protectorate.
Resignation of the authorities and elections under control: an annexation that does not speak its name ⚖️????️
Among the most shocking demands of this plan is the demand for a resignation of “all constitutional authorities » Ukrainians. Instead, Medvedev wants immediate elections for a “provisional parliament“, under the auspices of the UN.
But this puppet parliament would in reality have the sole mission of ratifying the annexation of Ukraine by Russia. He should recognize that “the entire territory of Ukraine is the territory of the Russian Federation” and adopt a “act of reunification” before self-dissolving. A scenario worthy of the worst hours of Soviet imperialism.
Reparations and compensation: the high price of “Russian peace” ????????
Finally, Russia demands that Ukraine pay a heavy financial price for this “ peace“. kyiv should pay “all necessary compensation”including to the families of the killed Russian soldiers and for the damage suffered by Russian interests.
A potentially astronomical bill which would bring Ukraine to its knees and empty it of its resources. The high price of a peace » which looks very much like an unconditional capitulation.

Medvedev’s 7 demands for a “Russian peace” in Ukraine have everything of a diktat. Far from seeking a compromise, Moscow wants to impose its law and reduce Ukraine to a vassal state. Unacceptable demands which were logically rejected by kyiv and condemned by the international community.
If it wants a peaceful outcome to the conflict, Russia must drastically review its position and agree to negotiate while respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. In the meantime, these proposals only add fuel to the fire and further push away the prospect of a just and lasting peace. ????️
