For the first two months of the year, the total expenses of the state social insurance (SSI) have increased by more than 500 million BGN compared to last year, the press center of the National Social Security Institute (NSI) announced. The institute provides monthly information on the cash performance of the budgets of the social security funds administered by the institute by virtue of legal delegation.
As of February 2024, the total amount of reported revenues is BGN 1,987.5 million, which represents 15.4% of the plan for the year. The received revenues are BGN 286.4 million more than in the same period of the previous year. The total reported expenses amount to BGN 3,851.9 million, or 15.8% of the plan for the year. The expenses are BGN 537.9 million more than in the first two months of 2023.
In the structure of the total expenses, the largest share is occupied by the expenses for pensions, which amount to BGN 3,378.3 million or 15.6% of the implementation of the plan for the year. Expenditures for pensions are BGN 397.9 million, which is 13.4% more than last year.
The number of pensioners for February 2024 was 2,039,022, or 10,373 (0.5%) more than in the second month of 2023.
The average monthly amount of a pensioner’s pension for February this year is BGN 830.56, which is BGN 95.39 (13.0%) more than the previous year. The average monthly amount of the pension for length of service and age of one pensioner is BGN 914.18. It is higher by BGN 107.36 (13.3%) compared to the same month of 2023.
The next most significant and large group of expenses in the consolidated budget of the LLC are the expenses for the payment of cash benefits and benefits under the Social Security Code. As of the end of February, they amounted to BGN 443.9 million, or 17.4% of the plan for the year. Reported expenses are BGN 138.2 million more than in the same period of 2023.
The total amount of reported transfers (net) according to the consolidated budget of DOO for the first two months of the year is BGN 1,979.9 million.
The reported income in the Teachers’ Pension Fund as of the end of February is BGN 15.2 million, which is 12.8% of the plan for the year. The received income is BGN 2.5 million more than in the same period of 2023. The total reported expenses of the Teachers’ Pension Fund amount to BGN 15.9 million, which represents 15.1% of the implementation of the plan for the year. The expenses incurred are BGN 2.4 million more than in the same period of 2023.
The reported revenues for the first two months of 2024 amount to BGN 769.0 thousand, which represents 30.8% implementation of the plan for the year. The received revenues are 175.3 thousand BGN less compared to the same period of 2023. The total reported expenses are in the amount of 403.9 thousand BGN.
The average social security income for January is BGN 1,592.01, the National Social Insurance Institution announced yesterday. The average monthly insurance income for the country for the period from 01.02.2023 to 31.01.2024 is BGN 1,462.51.
