In an internal message sent this week to authorized service centers, Apple said it is “aware of” and “investigating” the problem of random activations on the Watch Series 9 and Watch Ultra 2 displays. This was reported by MacRumors, Day.Az reports with reference to Gazeta. .ru.

“Some customers may report that their Apple Watch Series 9 or Apple Watch Ultra 2 is experiencing false touches on the display. Some customers are calling these ‘ghost’ touches,” Apple said in the note.

According to the problem description, it may result in unintended calls and the inability to enter the unlock code on the device.

Apple advised users of affected watches to regularly update their Apple Watch software. The company hopes that it will be able to resolve this issue in a future watchOS update. Apple did not say how widespread the problem is or provide an expected time frame for fixing it.

Apple has instructed technicians not to repair affected smartwatch models while it investigates. As a temporary solution to the problem, the company recommended that users encountering the bug force a restart of their Apple Watch. To do this, you need to simultaneously hold the Digital Crown and the Side button for at least 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen.

Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 models were released in September 2023.
