Whether you’re a fan of the Fab Four or not, it’s impossible to ignore that the Beatles played at the Olympia in Paris in the company of (among others) Sylvie Vartan. On the other hand, what we know little or nothing is that the little guys from Liverpool spent three long weeks on the banks of the Seine. It was just sixty years ago and, at the Georges V Hotel, they learned that they were number one in the USA for the first time, although until now the phenomenon had remained British. The realistic drawings, but also imbued with a delightful naivety, tell the story of the agitated stay of four boys who are really in the wind, even if at the beginning of their stay they can still stroll through the streets of Paris in relative tranquility. Throughout the pages, we come across Sylvie Vartan, Burt Lancaster, the photographer Jean-Marie Périer, but not Brigitte Bardot whom they dreamed of meeting. The Beatles had promised to return to Paris. It was not the case.
