Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: As the war continues in the besieged Gaza Strip, and aid income becomes scarce, the United Nations renewed its warnings, revealing shocking numbers.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced that one in every three children under two years suffers from acute malnutrition in northern Gaza.

It also warned in a statement published on its account on the X platform that malnutrition among children is spreading rapidly, reaching unprecedented levels in the Palestinian sector.

She also warned that famine was looming on the horizon, pointing out that there was no room to waste time.

UNRWA had previously indicated that hunger was spreading everywhere in the densely populated Strip, describing the situation in the north as tragic.

This came as, yesterday, Friday, the first ship to reach the Gaza coast unloaded a load of 200 tons of aid, which included rice and flour, as well as proteins and others.

While a second ship is being prepared in Cyprus to sail towards the Gazan coast.

Many international organizations have warned of famine in the devastated Palestinian Strip and the spread of epidemics, especially with Israel obstructing the entry of aid trucks by land from the Rafah crossing, as hundreds of trucks are still piled up there awaiting strict inspection procedures imposed by the Israeli forces at the Kerem Shalom crossing.

While some countries began dropping relief by air, including the United States and Jordan, in landing operations that many observers considered useless and expensive, as well as sometimes dangerous.

According to United Nations estimates, a third of Gaza’s population suffers from a severe scarcity of food and medicine, and is threatened by the specter of hunger, especially in the north.
