From data Israel Central Bureau of Statistics, published today Thursday, shows that some 17,870 apartments were sold between November and January, which is actually an increase of 21.9% compared to the previous three months (August-October). In January 2024 alone, 7,890 apartments were sold – an increase of 17.7% compared to January 2023.

Downtown Israel leads the way with 26.2% of the total number of apartments sold in these three months. Almost a third of new apartments (29.2%) and about a quarter of the total number of secondary apartments (23.6%) were sold in this area.

In the south, 20.9% of the total number of apartments were sold: 21.6% of the total number of new apartments and 20.3% of the total number of secondary apartments.

Jerusalem and Ashdod are leaders in the number of new apartments sold in three months (November 2023 – January 2024). Thus, more than 500 apartments were sold in these cities.

Haifa, Jerusalem and Be’er Sheva lead in the number of sales of secondary apartments (600 apartments).

Bureau data also shows that 45.3% of the total number of apartments sold between November and January were new apartments (about 8,090 apartments), up 25.3% from the previous three months. With the help of government subsidies, 1,705 apartments were sold.

Of the total number of apartments sold in the three months under review, 45.3% were apartments on the secondary market (about 9,780 apartments), which is 19.3% more than in the previous three months (August-October 2023).
