The special adviser on tourism issues Chr. Tasoulas, for his part, referred to the creation of the Tourism Office, to which everyone will be able to address matters related to tourism via the e-mail tourism@voreiatzoumerka, but also in person on some days of the week. To be investigated is the organization of a mountain running race, in order to increase traffic in “dead” periods, and the operation of Christmas markets in selected villages of the municipality, where products and items of folk art will be available, from businesses and people, active in the area.
In terms of infrastructure, the priorities are the inspection of the paths by mountain attendants before the summer season, so that problems can be immediately remedied, and the highlighting and beautification of each point of interest of the Municipality (natural beauties, monuments, buildings, etc.).
Finally, there will be an effort to provide incentives and create accommodation infrastructure for workers who want to work in businesses in the area, as well as information actions will be organized for alternative tourism and agritourism, with the aim of motivating young people to be active in the area.
For their part, the professionals welcomed the creation of the Tourism Office and the selection of a special adviser on tourism matters, while they expressed themselves positively regarding the possibility of creating a Tourism Committee, in order to discuss and highlight various issues that arise through the daily contact with visitors.
Finally, it was agreed to have meetings at regular intervals in order to evaluate the results of the actions and introduce new priorities.
