In a hearing that took place this Thursday, a judge from the Bucaramanga criminal circuit issued a condemnatory ruling against the former presidential candidate and former mayor of Bucaramanga, Rodolfo Hernández, for Undue interest in the execution of a contract by way of autor within the corruption case known as Vitalogic.

Although the judge argued his decision to issue a sentence against Hernández, he explained that the sentence of how many years in prison the Santander politician must pay will be defined in an upcoming hearing on a date to be determined. Rodolfo Hernández may appeal this decision.

In the middle of the hearing for the Vitalogic case, Rodolfo Hernández confirmed this Thursday that he has terminal cancer. “They answered my call, I have terminal cancer, thank you for letting me go to the judge, the least of all he thought about was being prosecuted for things that I did not do, thank you, Mr. Judge,” said the former presidential candidate.

He also stated that his cancer had been detected a few months ago and that he had already undergone chemotherapy procedures and even surgery in Bogotá while campaigning for the Governor of Santander.

The Prosecutor’s Office accused Hernández of having participated in irregularities committed in the consulting contract 096 of 2016, for $360 million, concluded between the Municipal Cleaning Company of Bucaramanga, Emab, and the consultant Jorge Alarcón, when Hernández Suárez served as mayor and president. of the board of directors of that entity.
