Adam Sandler’s new creation, You’re So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah, received the best reviews of the famous actor’s entire career. It is noteworthy that Sander was born in America, but was raised in a traditional Jewish family, descendants of emigrants from Russia.

The Times of Israel writes about this.

He stars in a new Netflix film about a teen drama and a holy Jewish coming-of-age ceremony, which also stars his real-life wife and daughters. The casting decision drew some criticism in an era of nepotism debates in Hollywood, but that didn’t stop the film from earning a 96 percent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, a review aggregator site.

It is noteworthy that this rating is several times higher than that of other hugely popular comedies of the 1990s by Adam Sandler. Director Sammy Cohen noted that “this is a dream come true.” It took him a while to realize what had happened.

“I grew up loving Billy Madison and loving [Сэндлера]. This has nothing to do with the fact that he is Jewish. He’s just an icon. So yeah, it was all very surreal and amazing,” Cohen said.

Earlier, “Cursor” wrote that the new film with Gal Gadot on Netflix disappointed leading film critics. Israeli actress Gal Gadot has teamed up with Netflix again to star in Heart of Stone.

We also reported that the Israeli-Ukrainian film was included in the international program of the Odessa Film Festival.
