Historical. Several states, including Poland and Hungary, have joined the criminal complaint filed with investigating judge Frenay against Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission. As part of an article in preparation on “ where are the complaints against Ursula von der Leyen? » France-Soir obtained confirmation that at least two states, Poland and Hungary, had joined the complaint of Belgian lobbyist Frédéric Baldan. It turns out that at least one other country, Romania, has joined Judge Frenay or is about to do so.

Remember that on April 5, 2023, Frédéric Baldan filed a criminal complaint with the constitution of a civil party in the hands of Frédéric Fresnay, investigating judge in Liège, against Ursula von der Leyen. The complaint mainly targets the acquisition contracts for covid vaccines with the manufacturer Pfizer as well as the text messages exchanged with the president of Pfizer Albert Bourla. The charges were usurpation of functions and titledestruction of documents and illegal taking of interest et corruption.

Poland, Hungary and Romania have also been the subject of independent summons before the Belgian courts by the company Pfizer Inc for “the oblige them to respect their commitments in terms of orders for vaccines against covid-19 which were placed as part of their contracts signed in 2021 » as we can read on page 100 of the Pfizer Inc annual report. Clearly, Pfizer asks “ the total payment doses of vaccines » ordered through of the European contract many elements of which Ursula von der Leyen potentially discussed and negotiated with Pfizer President Albert Bourla.

In an article dated March 16, 2024, the Public Senat website headlines “ Presidency of the European Commission: Ursula von der Leyenstop or again? » The article establishes that the current President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen declared herself a candidate (on February 19) for her own succession, supported by the European People’s Party (EPP). She defends her record built with an outgoing political alliance, made up of the EPP, the centrists of Renew and the social democrats.

The public Senate analysis should therefore be completed, because it does not mention the complaints of 10 parties (Baldan, Vivant Ostebelgien the Belgian political party, Les Patriotes and at least two European countries,…) targeting Ursula Von der Leyen. This candidacy today seems incompatible with the EU Treaty, as well as the code of conduct defining the function of commissioner, of which it would violate articles 2.2, 2.5 and 2.6.

A question arises: can Emmanuel Macron and Renew continue to support the candidacy of Ursula von der Leyen? In itself, this constitutes a possible obstacle to the investigation, because by supporting his candidacy when it is the subject of these complaints, this contributes to preventing it from succeeding.
