Dublin ∙ Indians received the highest number of work permits in Ireland last year. Out of the total 30,981 work permits granted, 38 percent were of Indians. That is 11,893. Work permits were subsequently granted to those from the Philippines, Brazil, Pakistan and China respectively. 65 percent of the total permits are issued to these five nationalities. The highest number of permits are granted in the health and social work sector. One-third of the total applications were granted. Half of all permits were issued in the capital, Dublin.
