The Croatian goalkeeper of “Fener”, Dominik Livakovic, received a punch in the face during the scuffles.

12 arrested
The Turkish Interior Ministry announced this Monday that twelve people were arrested following these events. Among them, supporters who entered the field, but also five people accused of having launched calls for violence. “It is in no way acceptable for violence to occur on football fields,” underlines the ministry. Denouncing “unacceptable” actions, the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) affirmed that “the necessary criminal sanctions would be imposed on those responsible for these incidents”.
The Trabzon pugilism marks a new dramatic episode in a particularly tense season in the Turkish championship. Already, in December, the competition was suspended for a week after the attack on a referee, live on television, notably by the manager of the Ankaragücü club, upset by the decisions of his victim. Furthermore, trips from Fenerbahçe to Trabzon have regularly been marked by violence over the past decade.
In April 2016, a meeting between the two rivals was interrupted after the brutal attack on an assistant referee by a supporter of the Black Sea club. A year earlier, the Istanbul players’ bus was fired upon as it passed through the Trabzon region. The driver was seriously injured.
