Silk Way West Airlines, the leading cargo airline in the Caspian and Central Asian region, has signed an addendum to its contract with Boeing for the acquisition of another Boeing 777 Freighter, scheduled for delivery in 2025, as part of its commitment to renewing its modern and environmentally friendly fleet. This contract is an addendum to the initial agreement signed in April 2021 and further demonstrates Silk Way West Airlines’ commitment to sustainability in the air cargo industry.

Under the main contract, Silk Way West Airlines has committed to purchase five Boeing 777 Freighters, two of which have already been delivered, with the remainder to be delivered by the end of 2027.

Thanks to its advanced technology, the Boeing 777 Freighter is known for its environmentally friendly performance, offering reduced emissions and lower fuel consumption compared to other cargo aircraft. The aircraft is equipped with innovative features and technologies that improve operational efficiency while reducing environmental impact. From lightweight composite materials to advanced aerodynamics, the Boeing 777 Freighter sets new standards for sustainability in air cargo.

Founded in 2012 in Baku, in the heart of the Silk Road, Silk Way West Airlines operates hundreds of flights every month around the world through a fleet of 14 dedicated aircraft Boeing 777F, Boeing 747-8F and 747-400F, based at Heydar Aliyev International Airport. In order to expand the fleet April 28, 2021 Silk Way West Airlines signed a strategic agreement with the company Boeing for the purchase of five modern 777 aircraftFafter which an agreement was signed on November 10, 2022 for the acquisition of two more new 777-8 freightersF. June 28, 2022 Silk Way West Airlines also places an order for the purchase of two aircraft Airbus A350F.

The airline’s annual cargo turnover exceeds 500,000 tons, and its growing route network covers more than 40 destinations in Europe, the CIS, the Middle East, Central and East Asia, North and South America.
