The spring session of the parliament continued with speeches before the agenda on Monday.
Csaba Böjte and the government

According to Tímea Szabó, the government parties are “hysterically” protecting Csaba Böjte, and the prime minister even gave her a state award, while trying to persuade the woman to withdraw the monk’s confession. In Fidesz and the government, systematic pedophile-washing is still taking place today, he insisted.
Bence Rétvár, the parliamentary state secretary of the Ministry of the Interior stated that they condemn pedophilia and violence against children, they want all children to grow up in a loving environment. The state secretary recalled the government’s measures to protect children, such as the tightening of the criminal code. He drew attention to the fact that 81 pedophile criminals were sent to prison under the left-wing government, while 663 under the current one. He also said that the opposition did not support the creation of a pedophile registry, nor that crimes against children should not be statute-barred.
Momentum demands strengthening of child protection
Russian Anna (Momentum) criticized the government because of the pardon case of the former deputy director of the orphanage in Bicske. According to him, the cabinet did not accept responsibility in the case, did not apologize to the victims. Instead, “he took the trouble with two women”, referring to the resignation of former Head of State Katalin Novák and the retirement of former Minister of Justice Judit Varga from public life.
He indicated that Momentum submitted a package of child protection proposals to the National Assembly and called on the government to support the measures included in it: strengthen basic child welfare care, increase resources for child protection, appoint a child rights ombudsman and increase the number of child rights representatives.
In his response, Bence Rétvári, the state secretary of the Ministry of the Interior, accused Anna Orosz of a “pedophile case” that concerns the kindergarten maintained by the Újbuda municipality. The state secretary referred to the fact that for three years the politician of the moment was the deputy mayor responsible for public education in the district.
Have we captured Brussels?
Ágnes Kunhalmi (MSZP) quoted the Prime Minister’s speech on March 15, according to which Brussels must be occupied. According to his assessment, the success of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán (Fidesz) and the extreme parties in the European Parliament elections on June 9 threatens social Europe. He also called Viktor Orbán’s concept dangerous because, according to him, it could contribute to the establishment of a two- or multi-speed European Union, our country could drift to the periphery of the union, and Hungary could lose the resources it deserves and the opportunity to have a say in meaningful decisions.
Csaba Dömötör, the parliamentary secretary of the Prime Minister’s Cabinet Office, said: it is beyond dispute that the current policy in Brussels must be changed. He said about the June election: now it will be decided whether the union will follow the path of peace or the path of war.
Eviction in “mini-Dubai”
Dániel Z. Kárpát (Jobbik) said that the MÁV will evict the families living in the planned “mini-Dubai” area, according to press reports, those affected were given 30 days to move out. The representative called the situation amazing. He stated: the government is supporting the investment with HUF 300 billion, but not only does it not fix the housing, but it starts the construction with a kind of “cleaning”.
He said: in the case of a HUF 2,300 billion major investment, they are also able to ensure that the Hungarians are evicted from 24 service apartments.
János Fónagy, the parliamentary state secretary of the Ministry of National Economy said: the residents of the investment area had a legal lease, the termination was also legal, and the period of termination was determined based on the provisions of the contract. He added: during the legal process, the MÁV tried and is trying to provide all the help that the former legal tenants can get to alternative rental housing. A significant number of the residents have already accepted the offered exchange property, dozens of them are currently participating in the negotiation process, as part of which the railway company provides assistance.
