The National Assembly will decide this Wednesday February 28 If the member of the Judicial Council, Fausto Murilloand the exvocal of the same organization, Juan José Morillowhether or not they will face a political trial.

The 137 legislators have been summoned at 08:30 to rule on the report of the Oversight Commissionwhich recommended impeaching both.

The accusation against Murillo and Morillo arises from a case that affected the former president of the National Assembly, Guadalupe Lloriand which was known after the broadcast of an audio.

Morillo and Maribel Barrenoalso a former member of the Judiciary, would have managed through the former judge of Pichincha, Vladimir Jhayyaa judicial benefit in favor of the former head of Parliament so that she is not removed from her position.

According to the Assembly, Murillo, who then served as president in charge of the Judiciary Council, refrained from timely accusing those involved.

Additionally, within the framework of this impeachment process, Murillo is accused of failing to make payments to officials and of alleged arrogation of functions.
