(ANSA) – TRIESTE, MARCH 15 – “In Leonardo di Ronchi dei Legionari there are professional and technological capabilities to satisfy the demand of the Italian and international market” but it is necessary to start all the promotion to “achieve very strong production and commercial objectives. These are technologies Italian companies whose clients are primarily public entities – Defence, Civil Protection, Interior – therefore requires greater determination from the Government and the public agencies involved”.
“We will urge the most interested Ministries to pay due attention to this plant.” Thus the vice-president of the Defense commission of the Chamber Piero Fassino, who with Debora Serracchiani visited the Leonardo plant in Ronchi.
Previously there had been a request for clarification from the Ministers of Business, Made in Italy and Defense.
“This site is an excellence from a production point of view and the professional qualities of its workers – added Fassino – in a sector such as drones, which is expanding throughout the world and in many sectors”. For Serracchiani, “placing the plant in the Aircraft Division can bring a further opportunity for work and expansion”.
The company explained that the site is a “growing center of excellence in the development of ‘uncrewed’ or unmanned systems”, as well as “cutting-edge training and simulation systems, essential for the Italian air defense system” . 280 employees work in Ronchi, 62% of whom have STEM degrees; the remainder are highly specialized technical figures”.
