This is the step by step to unlock and reset passwords in the online systems of the Ecuadorian Institute of Social Security (IESS) and Biess.
Have you forgotten your IESS membership code and have not been able to access the system to carry out procedures? We show you how to recover the password to enter the online system of the Ecuadorian Social Security Institute (IESS).
The first thing you should know is that the online system only allows password unlocking to those members who have their fingerprint registered in an IESS Universal Care Center.
Go to www.iess.gob.ec, Virtual Procedures section.
Then go to Insured and check Affiliates.
Click ‘Unlock Key’.
Enter your ID number and check ‘Unlock’.
The system will send the link to unlock your key to the registered email, which remains active for only three minutes.
After carrying out the Password Unlock process, enter the IESS website, go again to Insured, Affiliates and check Generate/Recover Password. Fill out the requested information and register the new password.
If your data is not updated or your fingerprint is not registered, you must go to a Universal Care Center to carry out these procedures and unlock your password.
Unlocking in the Biess
If you are blocked in the online system of the Bank of the Ecuadorian Institute of Social Security (Biess) for credit services, you must send an email to [email protected] with the following information attached:
Ballot scanned or photographed on both sides.
Photograph of his face next to the ID.
A Biess advisor will verify the documentation to unlock the account. Photos must be clear and legible. If there are observations on the documents sent, you will receive a message to your email with the necessary instructions. Biess online opening hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
