/ The management of the Basra Naft Club announced on Monday its approval of the resignation of coach Abdul Wahab Abu Al Hail by mutual consent.

Alaa Nayrouz, director of the Basra Oil Team, told Agency: “The administration met this afternoon with coach Abu Al-Hail and agreed to his desire to resign despite its adherence to it.”

He added, “Abu Al-Hail insisted on resigning and assured the management that he had no success with the team. Perhaps another coach will come who will succeed in leading Basra Oil Football.”

He explained, “The administration decided to postpone the naming of the team’s coach, especially since the league will witness a 40-day hiatus, and therefore the administration will be careful in choosing.”

He pointed out that “next Friday, the team will face the police team in a strong match, and he assigned the assistants to lead the team, namely Osama Shiyal, Salem Newoz, and the Lebanese Saeed Iskandar.”

He stressed that “the team will attract new players during the winter transfers and will witness positive change with the aim of restoring the team to its normal position and achieving positive results in the Iraqi Stars Football League.”

Naft Al-Wasat tied in the eleventh round of the Iraq Stars League with Al-Minaa 1-1, and occupied 14th place with 11 points after the end of the 11th round.
