Four years in prison for throwing a motorist off a bridge after a traffic argument

Nikesh Mistry, a 34-year-old man living in Groundsel Close (United Kingdom), has been sentenced to a prison sentence of four years and ten months after an accident that left a motorcyclist seriously injured. The verdict, delivered by Aylesbury Crown Court on December 20, 2023, comes after Mistry pleaded guilty to two counts of causing grievous bodily harm. for dangerous driving and one count of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

This unfortunate event occurred on November 19, 2022, when Mistry, driving a BMW 320i near the Walton Roundabout in Milton Keynes, got into a non-verbal altercation with the driver of a motorcycle. According to Thames Valley Police reports, the motorcyclist, a 40-year-old man from Oxley Park, He had positioned himself next to the BMW as it entered the roundabout.

The altercation quickly escalated when Mistry maneuvered his vehicle towards the motorcycle, taking both of them into the opposite lane of the road. In an attempt to pass, The motorcyclist was trapped between Mistry’s car and the metal railing of the bridge which they were passing through at that time.

The outcome was horrifying: the motorcyclist was pushed and fell off the bridge, suffering serious injuries when landing on the vegetation below. The injuries were of such magnitude that he needed to be airlifted to the nearest hospital for urgent treatment.

However, the chain of tragic events did not end there. As Mistry forced the motorist off the bridge, he lost control of his vehicle, colliding head-on with another car coming in the opposite direction. This latest accident caused serious injuries to the passenger of the other vehicle involved.

Investigating officer PC Phil McGlue, of the Thames Valley Highway Policing Unit, labeled the incident as a “extreme example of road rage.” McGlue stressed that Mistry was not in imminent danger and chose to respond in such a violent and disproportionate manner that he turned a traffic disagreement into a serious assault. “Drivers who behave in this way will be rigorously investigated and held accountable for their actions.”“McGlue said.
