“I found out over the summer and it changed my life,” said Tallulah Willis.

Tallulah Willis, the daughter of Bruce Willis and his ex-wife Demi Moore, revealed on Instagram this week that she was diagnosed with autism in the summer of 2023.

The youngest daughter of the two actors posted an old family video on Saturday, March 16th, that shows the now 30-year-old as a child and how she plays with her father’s ear. “Tell me you’re autistic without telling me you’re autistic,” she captioned the post. She further explained in the comments section: “Actually, this is the first time I’ve shared my diagnosis publicly,” she wrote. “I found out over the summer and it changed my life.”

It’s not the first time Willis has spoken so openly about himself. In an essay published in Vogue in the summer of 2023, she revealed her struggle with anorexia and depression. “When I was 25, I was admitted to a residential treatment facility in Malibu to treat the depression I had struggled with throughout my teenage years,” she wrote. “I was also diagnosed with ADHD and started taking stimulant medication, which was a big change.”

In the same essay, Willis also discussed her mental health following her father’s dementia diagnosis. “I admit that in recent years I have approached Bruce’s illness with a level of avoidance and denial that I am not proud of. The truth is, I was too sick to handle it myself.”
