Disney+ has released the first trailer for “Star Wars: The Acolyte”

On Tuesday, Disney+ released the first trailer for the Lucasfilm series “Star Wars: the Acolyte”and confirmed at the same time that the first two episodes will be released on the streaming service on June 4 (June 5 in Norway).

The series takes place years before anything we’ve seen before from the Star Wars universe, and focuses on the rise of the forces of the dark side during the final golden years of the Republic and the Jedi Order.

At the center of the story is Mae (Amandla Stenberg), a former Padawan who teams up with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of dark events. However, it turns out that the forces they face are both more evil and stronger than they could have ever imagined…

Behind the series is Leslye Headland, who previously delivered the Netflix favorite “Russian Doll”, and the cast includes names such as Dafne Keen (“Logan”), Carrie-Anne Moss, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Rebecca Henderson and Jodie Turner-Smith.
