by time news

While snowboarder Victor De Le Rue was crowned world champion in Fieberbrunn in Austria during the penultimate round, three titles remained at stake this Friday at the Xtreme Verbier in Switzerland. On the legendary face of Bec des Rosses, the Frenchman took 4th place (run at 84.67 points), he who was the big favorite. He had won all the stages of the winter so far and therefore missed the incredible 5 out of 5 hoped for. The victory went to the American Jonathan Penfield (run at 92 points).

Two French women in 2nd place in the world

Still on the French side, snowboarder Anna Martinez led the general classification before Verbier. But she had her hair done by the Canadian Erin Sauve, who ensured success in Verbier and the world title.

In skiing, the Norwegian Hedvig Wessel also scored a double victory by winning this Friday and winning the title (36,000 pts). Third in the event, Astrid Cheylus finished the season 2nd in the world (33,770 pts) ahead of another Habs, Manon Loschi, 4th with 28,575 pts.

Among the men, the German Max Hitzig was crowned world champion (41,100 pts) after his 2nd place (run at 94.67 pts) on the Bec des Rosses. Canadian Max Goguen won (96 pts) and finished the season ranked 2nd in the world (39,420 pts).
