Xiaomi hopes the new electric car’s shared operating system with the company’s phones, laptops and other devices will appeal to customers.
“Speed Ultra 7” is an elegant four-door C-class sedan with a range of up to 700 kilometers, Shanghai Daily reported. Sales of the model, with prices starting at 215,900 yuan (US$29,880), will start today after the launch ceremony, BTA reports.
However, the company’s big automotive ambitions come amid increasingly intense competition in the sector in China. The world’s largest electric car market, which relies on heavy government subsidies, offers more cars than are in demand domestically.
