The Presidential Council denies a document in circulation suggesting that it deals with the procedures for its installation and the dismissal of senior public officials
In a note published this Friday, March 29, the Presidential Transitional Council announced that it learned in the media of the existence of a document suggesting that the members of the council are dealing with the procedures for their installation and the revocation of senior public officials. For the members of the CP, the goal is to manipulate public opinion and destabilize the current process. The Presidential Council invites the press to be cautious and to consult the correct sources before disseminating information.
“The Presidential Council became aware through the press of the existence of a document allegedly adopted by this body which discusses the dismissal of senior public officials and deals with the procedures for its installation”we can read in the CP note.
Furthermore, the Presidential Council says it condemns such an act and takes the opportunity to denounce “the objectives of manipulating public opinion and destabilizing the process.”
“The members of the CP believe that in this chaotic situation facing the country, the important thing is “to maintain the serenity and cohesion of the State in order to be able to respond to the many challenges facing the Haitian nation. ”
The members of the Presidential Council reject this document and invite the press to be careful in what it reports to inform people.
“It also asks the media in general to be cautious and to seek at all times, and before any broadcast, authentication of the communications attributed to it.”
The Presidential Council at this time when Haiti is ravaged by gang violence reassures the population that it
“works tirelessly for the restoration of peace and the return to constitutional democratic order.”
