There is high interest in revisiting the healing ‘Promise of the Forest’. “Indoor and outdoor programs such as outdoor activities and meditation in the pine forest were appropriately organized, making it a healing time. “I want to come back again with my family.”

Gapyeong-gun Environmental Disease Prevention and Management Center’s ‘Promise of the Forest’, a space of communication and healing that connects nature and people, and people with people, received favorable feedback from Gyeonggi-do government officials, who said they would visit again.

According to the county on the 28th, Forest’s Promise recently conducted a field trip on the ‘Civil Civil Servant Capacity Building Course’ for about 40 civil servants from 25 cities and counties in conjunction with the Gyeonggi Human Resources Development Institute, and received a great response.

In this course, with the theme of ‘Rest and Healing’, customized programs such as singing bowl meditation for rest, healing in the healing zone, making a healing package, forest healing in a pine tree forest, and experiencing eco-friendly and safe food are conducted to help with civil complaints. It served as an opportunity to improve the work motivation of the public officials in charge.

Participants said, “I was so happy to be able to return home with not only emotional stability but also peace of mind in a place with an optimal natural environment for healing environmental diseases.” They said, “I will come back again and actively recommend other people to visit as well.” It is expected that the promise of the Forest of Happiness at the Environmental Disease Prevention and Management Center will become even more vibrant.

Forest’s Promise, which opened in July 2019, provides education, experience, and healing programs to prevent and manage environmental diseases such as atopic dermatitis, allergic rhinitis, and asthma, which are caused by worsening the human immune system due to the increasing number of environmental harmful factors. It is gaining popularity, with over 13,000 people benefiting from it annually.

Last year, about 3,000 people participated in customized programs for each life cycle, from men and women of all ages, adults to children, and about 4,600 people participated in on-site environmental disease prevention and non-face-to-face education, and about 400 people participated in the 2060 Forest Liberation Journal program, providing diagnosis, experience, and healing. About 4,700 people participated in social contribution programs such as use of zones and lodging facilities and volunteer work for vulnerable groups.

‘Promise of the Forest’ is an eco-friendly healing center full of clear weather and refreshing air with a pine nut-scented forest in the background. It is located 450-600m above sea level at the foot of Seorisan Mountain (879m), which is composed of dense forests. There are many pine trees over 80 years old. It has been shown to be very effective in treating environmental diseases.

On the first basement floor, there is a healing zone, men’s and women’s shower rooms, and a bathing experience room, and on the first and second floors above ground, there is a management office, seminar room, health care room, forest restaurant, meditation room, phytoncide room, play room, and main auditorium for visitors. There are also recreational accommodations.

A military official said, “The green forest with the scent of pine nuts surrounding the promise of the forest was selected as one of Korea’s top 100 luxury forests by the Korea Forest Service last year.” He added, “This year, we will also strengthen our ability to manage and prevent this by providing education tailored to the needs of all walks of life.” Furthermore, we will further raise the level of health in the local community.”
