Israeli researchers have developed a mobile application called TrainPain that can be used to combat chronic body pain. This startup will soon be operational in one of our health insurance funds.

NoCamels reports.

The TrainPain game needs to be downloaded from the smartphone app store, but it requires a special device that contains two tactile stimulators (left and right) that provoke vibrations. One stimulator needs to be attached to a sore spot, for example, on the right arm or knee, and the second – symmetrically. After that, go to the game where you need to shoot the balls.

Scientists say that these balls differ from each other in numbers. If, for example, the stimulator vibrates twice, then you need to wait for the ball with the number two and point it in the direction where the stimulation comes from. When the ball appears, the stimulator on the opposite side begins to pulsate so that our brain does not concentrate on the pain sensation. And while the patient plays the game, algorithms study his ability to sense sensory perception.

The startup’s co-founder, physiotherapist Elan Schneider, noted that the body’s nervous system can increase and decrease the intensity of pain, but there was no such tool yet that would allow retraining this function.

“Cursor” wrote earlier that researchers from Tel Aviv University believe that they have solved the scientific riddle of consciousness.
