Israeli judoka Sagi Muki said Palestinian demonstrators protesting against Israel stole his sports jacket when he confronted them in Japan.

In the video, Muki said he decided to speak to the protesters after coming across a “pro-Hamas demonstration” because he was upset that “they are ignorant” about the ongoing war in Gaza, sparked by the Oct. 7 Hamas terrorist attack.

“I tried to explain [им]“that we need to fight for the truth and the state of Israel,” Muki said. “It was much harder than training, it exhausted me, but we won’t give up.”

Some of the protesters grabbed his jacket and ran away with it, Muki said.

Muki vowed to “continue to represent Israel on the international stage.”

Note that Japan, meanwhile, intends to resume funding the UN Refugee Agency in Palestine (UNRWA).

Foreign Minister Kamikawa Yoko met with agency chief Philippe Lazzarini in Tokyo on Thursday to discuss the agency’s work amid the ongoing war in Gaza.

Japan’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement that UNRWA will establish a “new framework” with Tokyo for project management and monitoring to ensure transparency and traceability of projects with the active participation of the agency’s Japanese staff.
