According to news agency Reuters report, he is seen hanging a woman’s white underwear with his other hand over the mouth of another Israeli soldier lying on a sofa. The pictures of this incident are objectionable. In such a situation, they cannot be used publicly.
Israeli soldiers were seen giving different poses
In another photo, a second Israeli soldier is seen sitting over a tap holding a mannequin of a woman wearing a black bra and helmet and can be heard saying, “I found a beautiful wife, serious relationship in Gaza. ” These photos and videos have been reposted by Palestinian reporter Younis Tirawi, which have been viewed thousands of times so far. One photo shows a soldier posing with his gun and giving a thumbs up gesture in front of a bed filled with packets of women’s underwear. Another photo shows an Israeli soldier holding a nude mannequin of a woman from behind with his hands on her breasts, and another soldier is shown caressing a semi-nude doll.
UN Human Rights Office condemned
UN Human Rights Office spokeswoman Ravina Shamdasani said such photos and videos of Israeli soldiers’ actions are humiliating for Palestinian women and all women. “Posting such photos is insulting to Palestinian women and all women,” she said. In response, an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson said that the army expects soldiers to follow orders and values, and will investigate those deviating from the rules and videos and photos uploaded to social media.
Israeli army assured investigation
“In cases where suspicion of a criminal offense arises that justifies the initiation of an investigation, an investigation is initiated by the military police,” it said in a statement. “It should be clarified that in some of the cases investigated, it has been concluded that the expression or behavior of the soldiers in the video is inappropriate, and this is handled in accordance with procedure,” the statement said. However, the IDF did not say whether it was referring to viral images and photographs of Israeli soldiers or whether any action had been taken against the soldiers.
