The city of Maribor hosted the general assembly of the Climaborough project “Building Green and Climate-Neutral Cit-Hubs” from 11 to 13 March.
In addition to the activities implemented within the project work packages, representatives of all partners also had the opportunity to visit the public integrated waste management company Snaga, as well as the company NIGRAD, in order to better understand the challenge of the city of Maribor regarding waste and circularity, but also to watch the presentation of its climate and energy strategies by the company ENERGAP.
In addition, in the context of the ongoing innovation competition, the members of the evaluation committee met and approved the economic operators invited to the next phase. The tender is expected to select two contractors for the Municipality of Ioannita, who will implement experimental solutions with a total budget of 300,000 euros, with the aim of reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the lakeside area.
Finally, the Municipality of Ioannito is expected to host 40 representatives of the project partners at the next meeting that will take place in our city from September 24 to 26.
The project is co-financed by the European Union (Horizon Europe Program) and supports the mission of the Municipality of Ioannita to achieve climate neutrality by 2030.
