A minute’s silence was announced before the start of a charity concert in memory of the victims of the terrorist attack at “Crocus City Hall”, held near the spontaneous memorial next to the walls of the complex, TASS reported.

Figures of cranes made of lighted candles were placed near the stage. There were also candles in the lamps of many who came to the spontaneous memorial. During the minute’s silence, a video sequence of cranes flying in the sky was played on the facade of Crocus, which was then replaced by photos of those who died in the terrorist attack.

The minute of silence began at 7:52 p.m. Moscow time – approximately at that time on March 22, the tragic events began, BTA recalls.

After those who came to honor the memory of the victims, a musical group led by the Russian conductor Valery Gergiev appeared on the stage of the charity concert. In the breaks between the musicians’ performances, several participants in the tragic events told how they managed to escape.

Throughout the day, people continued to carry flowers in memory of those who died in the terrorist attack. The security of “Crocus” was strengthened – special routes were provided to distribute the flow of people, metal detector frames were installed on them, and guards were on duty next to them.

Commemorative events were held throughout the day near Crocus City Hall. In the afternoon hours, on the ninth day of the tragedy, the archbishop of Odintsovo and Krasnogorsk Thomas held a memorial service at the site of the spontaneous memorial.

Employees of more than 130 diplomatic missions took part in the mourning ceremony of laying flowers in front of him, TASS recalls.
