Quito, Nearly 250 agricultural producers in the country participated in the virtual workshop called “Fundamentals and requirements for importing and exporting,” which was organized the Undersecretary of Agricultural Marketing, of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, in alliance with the National Customs Service of Ecuador (Senae).

The purpose was for agricultural producers to know the requirements they must meet to export their production, as well as to import inputs, machinery or whatever they need to strengthen their activity.

In the workshop, held last Thursday, producers learned the basic concepts of importer and exporter, in addition to general aspects, and the registration of importer and exporter that they must complete before the Senae.

In the training, they were told the previous steps they must take for an import, which include: obtaining the digital certificate for electronic signature (Token); installation of Ecuapass; Importer registration in customs computer system; know restrictions on products to be imported, and the procedures for customs clearance of merchandise.

In addition, they were explained which are the fundamental actors in foreign trade, among which were pointed out: exporter, carrier, temporary warehouse, export freight agent, and customs agent.

The participating producers, additionally, learned about the stages of the export process, which include: pre-shipment; shipment; post boarding; steps of the export customs declaration, and the export declaration.
