Japan is preparing to resume funding for the UN Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA). The funding freeze was prompted by an Israeli investigation and subsequent allegations that UNRWA personnel were involved in an attack carried out by Hamas terrorists last October.

The Times Of Israel writes about this.

Japan’s Foreign Minister, Yoko Kamikawa, met with UNRWA chief Philippe Lazzarini to discuss measures to strengthen governance and transparency at the agency. They agreed on final steps to restore financial support to Japan. Resumption of funding is expected in the first half of April.

Japan’s decision follows similar moves by other countries such as Australia, Canada and Sweden, which have also renewed funding for UNRWA. The head of the agency, Lazzarini, said there were sufficient funds to operate until the end of May.

It is worth noting that the UN has launched both internal and independent investigations. The UN says Israel has not provided any evidence to support the allegations against UNRWA staff.

Earlier, Kursor reported that a former UNRWA official made a scandalous statement about Hamas terrorist leader Haniyeh. High-ranking Hamas terrorists were teachers in UNRWA schools.

A former UNRWA official claims Western countries have distorted the content of the agency’s training programs, introducing topics that are inconsistent with Palestinian values and heritage, and forcing the removal of certain photographs and topics from curricula. According to him, UNRWA sought to create a national platform for Palestinian refugees, but interference from the West prevented this.
