Roula Pispirigou was unanimously sentenced to life imprisonment by the Joint Jury Court of Athens for Georgina’s murder.
After 15 months, 99 hearings, dozens of witnesses, the court sentenced the 34-year-old mother to life imprisonment for the murder and attempted murder, by intent in a calm state of mind, of her 9-year-old daughter.
The unfortunate Georgina died on January 29, 2022 from a strong dose of ketamine, while being hospitalized at the “Aglaia Kyriakou” Children’s Hospital. Her mother was also found guilty of the attempt against the 9-year-old a few months earlier, when the child had been admitted to “Karamandaneio”.
A few hours after the decision of the “Light in the Tunnel” Court revealed a shocking testimony from a person who knows a lot about the case.
The son of the family had a relationship with Roula Pispirigou before Manos Daskalakis and the 34-year-old seems to have reached the point of lying that she is suffering from a serious illness and dying in order to let her live her love life with their child.
“Thankfully the court understood what it was all about and gave her what she should get”
“To be with him she said she is seriously ill. She said she has cancer and is dying and she wants his love for the rest of her life. Then he claimed he has some genetic problem. Then he said that if he leaves her, he will kill himself,” she said.
And he added that the 34-year-old is very persuasive. “She told me all these things and at first I believed her. Something serious happened and we understood that he was not suffering from the illness he was saying,” added the witness.
What the family says after her conviction
“First of all I feel sorry for her because she is sick and above all I feel sorry that the universe, nature, God, allowed such things to happen and innocent souls to leave. Fortunately the court understood what it was all about and gave her what she should receive. That’s what we believe,” said the witness.
Then, he noted that “three souls passed away in such a way that I don’t even want to think about it. Unfortunately life allowed everyone to be blinded and not prevent what happened from happening. I have come out of my clothes and with the system that no one has the magic to come out and say “I made a mistake, I had to shout, to say in time that something was wrong with this woman”. I’m talking about doctors, nurses, social services and I leave the relatives last.”
“This woman is a chapter of my family’s life that I really want to forget but I can’t,” he concluded.
